Urbanmount Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how UM Technologies Inc. d/b/a Urbanmount ("Urbanmount") collects, uses, shares, and keeps personal information through its websites, apps, retailer and Shopify experiences, communications, support, payments, and marketplace services.
This Policy describes Urbanmount's data practices. It is not blanket consent. Urbanmount asks separately for permission when required, including for a background report, marketing program, call recording, precise device location, Apple-defined tracking, or another activity that needs separate permission.
1. Who this Policy covers
This Policy applies to visitors, Customers, Pros, Store users, leads, and other people whose information Urbanmount handles for the Platform. A Store's own privacy policy also applies to information the Store controls for its storefront, product order, marketing, or other independent purposes.
The Platform is for people who are at least 18, or the higher age of majority where they live. Urbanmount does not knowingly offer accounts or Services to children.
2. Information Urbanmount collects
The information Urbanmount collects depends on how a person uses the Platform. It may include:
- Account and identity information, such as name, contact details, login information, profile, account role, and age or eligibility confirmation;
- Service information, such as addresses, product and property details, scope, instructions, photos, visits, schedules, access information, assigned Pros, completion information, changes, cancellations, and reviews;
- Pro business and eligibility information, such as skills, tools, vehicles, credentials, insurance, tax and payout information, screening authorization and results, availability, job activity, and Opportunity Score information;
- Payment information, such as Service and quote identifiers, amounts, tax, tips, credits, authorizations, masked payment details, payment status, receipts, refunds, disputes, Store settlement, and Pro payout records;
- Communications, media, and support information, such as email, text and multimedia messages, chats, calls, audio, video, recordings, transcripts, summaries, classifications, translations, analyses, other information created from communications, support cases, preferences, and formal submissions;
- Device and usage information, such as browser or app type, operating system, device or advertising identifiers where permitted, approximate area based on IP address, language, pages and screens viewed, clicks, error and reliability information, security records, and tracking choices;
- Location information, such as a Customer's Service address and, with device permission, a Pro's precise location while traveling to or performing an active Service;
- Content and incident information, such as profiles, reviews, Service media, safety and fraud reports, ProjectCare materials, dispute evidence, and moderation records;
- Referral, affiliate, credit, and Promotion information, such as the source person or Store, link or code, offer, eligibility and qualification status, benefit or commission, expiry, payment status, fraud checks, and corrections; and
- Information from others, including Stores, Shopify, payment and screening providers, identity and communications providers, public records, referral sources, and people involved in an authorized transaction.
Urbanmount and the applicable merchant may use payment providers for methods made available through checkout or payout. Those providers may handle account or payment credentials under their own terms and privacy practices. Urbanmount may keep transaction reference numbers from those providers, masked details, authorization and transaction status, and other records needed to operate, support, document, and enforce the transaction.
3. How Urbanmount uses information
Urbanmount may use personal information to:
- create, secure, authenticate, support, and close accounts;
- determine Service availability and arrange, price, book, schedule, assign, change, and complete Services and Work Orders;
- identify, screen, qualify, match, and support Pros and administer Opportunity Score, appeals, and deactivation;
- process payments, tax, receipts, refunds, disputes, Store settlements, Pro payouts, and required reporting;
- operate referral, affiliate, credit, and Promotion programs, including who receives referral credit, eligibility, benefits, commissions, expiry, corrections, and fraud prevention;
- send, receive, record, transcribe, process, analyze, summarize, classify, translate, direct, review, measure, and improve communications and media; provide support; and receive formal legal or privacy submissions;
- prevent, detect, investigate, and address fraud, abuse, safety, security, payment, content, and policy issues;
- administer ProjectCare, insurance, incident handling, claims, disputes, and legal holds;
- comply with law and valid process and establish, exercise, or defend legal rights;
- develop, test, train, tune, evaluate, operate, automate, personalize, and improve Platform features, artificial intelligence and other automated tools, provider-supported technology, reliability, accessibility, quality, and marketplace performance; and
- measure and market Urbanmount as described in Section 7 and the Cookie and Tracking Notice.
The examples above are illustrative and not exhaustive. Urbanmount may add, replace, change, combine, automate, suspend, or discontinue Platform features, ways Services are offered, providers, connections with other services, communication methods, and technologies and may use information for these disclosed business purposes. Urbanmount provides another notice or obtains permission when applicable law requires it for a materially different use. Opportunity Score does not decide whether a Customer may use a Service-linked payment schedule.
4. Sensitive information
Urbanmount uses sensitive information only for the disclosed purposes that need it.
- Identity documents, government or tax identifiers, and screening information may be used for identity, Pro eligibility, tax, fraud prevention, safety, and compliance.
- A Customer's Service address may be used to price, schedule, assign, perform, support, secure, and document a Service.
- With device permission, a Pro's precise location may be used during an active Service for travel directions, arrival information, attendance, support, safety, fraud prevention, and incident evidence.
- Private messages, job media, calls, audio, video, recordings, transcripts, information created from them, safety reports, fraud evidence, and ProjectCare materials may be used for Service delivery and support; recording, transcription, analysis, summarization, classification, translation and directing communications; automation, artificial intelligence and other automated assistance; quality, training and improvement; safety, security and fraud prevention; investigations, disputes and claims; compliance; and other disclosed business purposes.
Urbanmount limits sensitive-information use and disclosure to the purposes described in this Policy, another notice presented when the information is collected, the person's direction, a transaction or Service the person requests, security and fraud prevention, legal rights and compliance, or another basis permitted by law. When a particular category or use requires separate notice, consent, opt-out, or another choice, Urbanmount provides it as applicable.
5. Background screening
Urbanmount orders and administers one onboarding background check for Pros, receives the report, decides Platform eligibility, and handles review, overrides, and adverse action. Stores do not receive a report, result, status, reason, or screening information and cannot influence the decision.
The selected provider performs standard identity and criminal or public-record screening. The screening does not include investigative interviews, reference calls, credit checks, drug testing, or employment or education verification. A later recheck requires a specific documented reason and a new standalone written authorization from the Pro.
Only authorized personnel whose work requires it may access raw reports or make or change screening decisions. Other personnel receive only the limited status needed for their role. Access and decisions are recorded.
6. Artificial intelligence and automated decisions
Urbanmount may use artificial intelligence, machine learning, and other automated tools supplied by Urbanmount or third parties. These tools may find, combine, analyze, create, classify, translate, or otherwise work with information and media. Uses may include, without limitation, providing requested features; communications and voice processing; support; safety, security and fraud prevention; identity and screening support; matching, scheduling and dispatch; content and media processing; quality, training, evaluation, research, development, personalization, product and service improvement; legal and compliance work; and the other purposes in this Policy.
Urbanmount may add, replace, change, combine, train, tune, test, evaluate, suspend, or discontinue artificial intelligence and other automated tools, service providers, methods, and features. Providers may receive and retain information under the applicable service, account settings, contract, and provider terms. A named provider or example is illustrative rather than a closed list. Urbanmount provides another notice or obtains permission when applicable law requires it for a materially different use.
Urbanmount may use automated tools for Opportunity Score, eligibility ordering, matching, and routine dispatch. A score of 30 is a warning only. A score of 20 may prospectively restrict Instant Booking under the score rules stated in the Pro Agreement. A material score-based restriction includes a specific reason, a way to correct the information used, and meaningful human review. The reviewer can change the information or decision and restore access. Urbanmount may act first for an urgent safety or fraud risk, followed by prompt review.
7. Advertising and analytics
Where permitted, Urbanmount may use ordinary Customer, Pro, and lead information for advertising audiences, audiences of people with similar interests, showing ads again, measuring which ads led to activity, Service-interest and approximate-area targeting, website and app activity measurement, matching email addresses or phone numbers after converting them into a coded form, and device or advertising identifiers.
Urbanmount honors applicable opt-outs for targeted advertising, sale, or sharing, including applicable Global Privacy Control signals. Urbanmount obtains Apple AppTrackingTransparency permission before Apple-defined cross-company tracking in an iOS app. Opting out of targeted advertising does not stop account, Service, security, payment, or other non-advertising processing.
Advertising providers and providers that measure where activity came from may receive the identifiers, contact matches, device or app information, interactions, and resulting activity needed for the uses described above. The information involved and available choices differ by website or app, device permission, and applicable law. See the Cookie and Tracking Notice.
8. How Urbanmount shares information
Urbanmount may share information:
- with Customers and Pros as needed to evaluate, book, perform, support, and document a Service;
- with a Store for its related order and Urbanmount Service, support, billing and refund status, permitted reviews or completion media, and appropriate performance reporting;
- with service providers, platforms, and business partners that support, including without limitation, hosting, databases, storage and delivery; payments, banking, transfers, payouts and commerce; communications, support, recording and media processing; mapping, calendars, navigation, mobile distribution and notifications; analytics, measuring where activity came from, advertising, error detection and security; artificial intelligence and other tools that find, combine or analyze information; identity and background screening; shipment tracking, scheduling, surveys and other Urbanmount services. Urbanmount may add, replace, change, or discontinue recipients and connections with other services. A recipient may handle information for Urbanmount, act independently under its own duties or terms, or hold different roles for different purposes;
- with insurers, claims participants, auditors, advisers, and parties involved in an incident, claim, merger, acquisition, reorganization, or asset transfer;
- with government, regulatory, judicial, or law-enforcement authorities in response to valid process or to protect rights and safety; and
- with another person at the individual's direction or with authorization.
A Store may receive the information needed for its related Service, such as Store order data, Customer contact and Service address, booking status, the assigned Pro's basic public identity, financial status, and permitted reviews or completion media. A Store does not receive raw payment credentials; Pro tax, payout, identity, screening, or government-ID information; Opportunity Score or internal eligibility reasons; exact Pro GPS location; private messages or recordings; or private fraud, safety, ProjectCare, support, or legal records.
A referral or affiliate participant receives only who made the referral, the program status, amount, timing, and general reason appropriate for that role. A referrer does not receive the referred person's payment credentials, private address or messages, detailed Work Orders, screening information, unrelated activity, or another Pro's private payout information.
Information a person chooses to publish—such as an approved public profile, review, or public post—may be seen, copied, or shared by others. Urbanmount can apply its own privacy settings and moderation rules, but cannot control a copy another person lawfully made or a use by an independent third party outside Urbanmount's systems. This does not limit Urbanmount's duties for information Urbanmount controls.
An independent third party's own privacy notice governs information it collects or controls for its independent purposes. Urbanmount does not control that party's independent practices merely because the Platform links to or integrates with it. Urbanmount remains responsible for Urbanmount's own instructions, disclosures, choices, and duties.
9. Store, Shopify, and White Label roles
Urbanmount and a Store each control information for their own purposes. Urbanmount controls core Urbanmount accounts, Service formation, Work Orders, Pro eligibility and assignment, Platform communications and support, Urbanmount payment evidence, Pro payouts, fraud and safety, ProjectCare, legal evidence, and Urbanmount privacy requests. A Store controls its storefront, catalog and product sales, its own marketing and support, and records for payments it collects.
Urbanmount acts for a Store only for specifically documented functions, such as displaying Store account, catalog, or brand information; keeping a Store-created booking draft before the Customer adopts it; preparing an approved Store report; or sending a Store communication the Store authorized. Coordinating one booking journey does not make the parties joint controllers for every purpose.
A Store-created draft does not by itself create an Urbanmount account or lead. The Customer must receive the relevant notices and confirm the Urbanmount Service. An unaccepted draft is deleted or minimized under the applicable retention schedule unless a valid reason requires limited retention.
10. How long Urbanmount keeps information
Urbanmount keeps information only as long as needed for a disclosed operational, transaction, safety, security, legal, dispute, or audit purpose. It then deletes, de-identifies, or securely disposes of the information unless a valid hold or duty applies.
Billing and credit records are kept for seven years. Agreement, Service, Work Order, acceptance, payment, refund, dispute, and legal records may be kept as long as needed to administer and prove the transaction and related rights.
Background-report retention depends on the documented screening, eligibility, dispute, security, and legal purposes for which a report is needed. Urbanmount limits access, applies valid holds, and securely disposes of a report when no such purpose remains.
Referral, affiliate, credit, and Promotion records may be kept as long as needed to administer who receives referral credit, eligibility, benefits, commissions, payouts, tax, fraud prevention, corrections, and disputes. The end of a benefit or earning period does not erase the underlying referral or transaction record.
Closing an account or requesting deletion does not erase information Urbanmount must keep for a Service, payout, refund, security, fraud, tax, accounting, legal hold, dispute, or another valid purpose. Information no longer needed for those purposes is deleted or de-identified under the applicable schedule.
11. Security
Urbanmount uses administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed for the nature of the information and the risks. Access is limited by purpose and role, and sensitive access and important decisions are recorded where appropriate. No security measure, provider, connected service, storage method, automated tool, communication, or transmission is completely secure. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Urbanmount does not warrant that information will be free from interception, loss, alteration, compromise, deletion, delay, outage, misuse, or unauthorized access.
12. Privacy choices and rights
Urbanmount offers verified U.S. users a baseline ability to request access, correction, a portable copy, and deletion, subject to identity verification and valid exceptions. Users may also close an account through the available account process. The U.S. State Privacy Notice describes additional rights, advertising opt-outs, appeals, and automated-decision information that may apply.
Submit a privacy request or appeal through the authenticated privacy form shown in your account or by emailing legal@urban-mount.com. Ordinary support may help route a request, but legal@urban-mount.com and any identified privacy form are the formal submission methods. Urbanmount does not discriminate against a person for exercising a privacy right, though a requested deletion or restriction may make a feature impossible to provide.
Urbanmount handles requests for information it controls. A Store handles requests for information the Store controls. A request is divided or forwarded only when it actually covers both parties' records.
Urbanmount applies an applicable request to information it controls and to service providers it can instruct. An independent recipient handles information it controls under its own duties, and Urbanmount may direct the requester to that recipient. Valid transaction, security, fraud, dispute, tax, accounting, and legal-hold exceptions continue to apply.
13. Communications and recording
Urbanmount uses contact information and communication or media content for account, Service, payment, security, support, legal, marketing, recording, transcription, analysis, summarization, classification, translation, directing communications, artificial intelligence and other automated tools, quality, training, product improvement, disputes, claims, compliance, and the other purposes described in the Communications and Recording Terms. Marketing choices do not stop a necessary non-marketing message. Urbanmount provides recording notice and obtains another form of permission when applicable law requires it for a particular use.
14. Changes to this Policy
Urbanmount gives direct advance notice of a material change, including its effective date and a plain summary. A new category of information or materially incompatible purpose receives the notice or separate consent required for that use. Urbanmount will not rely on a quiet policy update to authorize a materially different use of existing identifiable content, such as general-purpose model training.
A correction that does not change meaning does not require notice. A new version does not rewrite how information was used before its effective date or alter an accepted transaction record.
